As we travel along the West Coast, here’s another trompe l’oeil concept spotted at Bellagio shopping gallery. Trompe l’oeil in French translates to “deceive the eye”, is a type of art technique using realistic imagery to create optical illusion so that the depicted objects appear in three dimension.
Pretty umbrella pretending to be all flora! 🙂 don’t you just love how it tricks the eyes?
Stay tuned to see how we translate some trompe l’oeil concept in our upcoming F/W 2011 collection.

I was just doing some quick research on shopping & dining for our upcoming trip to New York this Saturday and totally LOL at this:

If you’ve yet to master the art of shopping in NYC, you’ll want to prepare for your trip to Century 21 by reading NYCTourist’s list of NYC shopping tips, the Guerilla Shopping Guide:
- Shop at Odd Hours: With such great deals on designer clothes, Century 21 is a madhouse on weekends. Try to visit the store at off hours – on a weekday morning, for example, or in bad weather. The store will be tranquil by comparison.
- Shop Hard: When you shop at Century 21 NYC, you have to dig to find those deals. Look in shoeboxes that aren’t your size. Open ugly shoeboxes to find the cute pair of shoes another shopper has stashed away on her lunch break. Check the racks in the dressing room for adorable discards. Shop hard!
- Dress Smart: If you plan on trying on clothes at Century 21 NY, dress appropriately. Wear something that you can change out of easily, or otherwise wear tights and a tank top so you can try on clothes on the floor, without fighting the dressing rooms.
- Stay Positive: Perhaps the best advice on shopping in NYC is this: don’t get discouraged. It’s easy to be intimidated by the massive size of Century 21 and the aggressive shoppers who flock there. Stay positive. Remember you’re taking advantage of outrageous deals.
Now, now I am not really sure that sounds all so fun to shop at NYC anymore. I will try to stay motivated & positive 🙂

It isn’t exactly an extract from my initial inspiration board for F/W 2011 but can’t help spotting ’em all over the place. They say you have eyes only for the things you choose to see. Ain’t this true?
Hunting on the Lagoon is part of the European painting collection at The Getty Centre, Los Angeles.
Initially, I was attracted by the boats and hunting scene. Always had a thing or two for boats/ships and olden days trading/pirates related stuff (
not Pirates of the Carribean though).
However, guess what’s the surprise behind?!
And no, it’s not ’cause it’s mail related
again but the concept! Do you see what I like? 🙂
p/s: looking forward to F/W 2011

Were you on board Jetstar flight recently?
By far, one of my personal favourite. Lovely, lovely graphic done by the publishing team behind Jetstar Asia Inflight Magazine. Much thanks to Benita for the feature and Nat for the kind assistance in shuttling the bag samples to/fro.
